Originally from Pennsylvania, I never imagined that my day job would lead my family on the adventure of a lifetime. When work took us out west to Washington, we found boundless opportunities for exploration. These were opportunities we’d only dreamed about back east.
I’ve always had a passion for geocaching, writing, and a good old-fashioned hike. My boys aren’t always the most enthusiastic participants. You hear some minor complaints along the way. Still, they’re good sports who join in on our adventures.
We spent our first few months in Washington exploring and networking with the local outdoor community. With our own painstaking research to uncover hidden gems, we decided it was time to share our experiences. We are navigating this new territory and we are discovering all the Pacific Northwest has to offer while documenting our journey from a family-friendly perspective. Though you may find the occasional “adults-only” solo trip thrown into the mix!
While we explored many incredible locations on the East Coast over the years, we always had the comfort of returning home to familiar territory in Pennsylvania. This is our first time building a completely new community and settling in an entirely different place—and what a place it is to start fresh.
